Story tips

If you have documents or a lead you think fits our coverage of public spending and procurement, send a short outline of what you have and why you think it is worth a closer look. We read every message, though we cannot promise a reply to each one or a timeline for any resulting story.

We are most able to act on tips accompanied by a specific, datable document — a filing, a notice, a report — rather than a general account. Where we cannot verify a claim independently, we generally will not publish it.

Corrections and clarifications

To flag a possible error, tell us which article, which specific claim, and what document or source you believe contradicts it. We look at every request against the underlying record and will update the piece if the record supports a change.

We aim to respond to correction requests within a reasonable period, though the time needed varies with how much verification a claim requires.

Republishing

Some of our reports are available for republishing under terms set out on a case-by-case basis; write to us with the piece you would like to use and where it would appear. We will let you know what is possible.

We ask that any republished material carry a credit to Bakau Review and a link back to the original report, and that no changes be made to the substance of the text without our agreement.
